PSP Download

Some people just like to download things. They’ll download anything. Especially if it’s free. Most of us have plenty of room on our computers and don’t have to worry about every little file. However, when you start the PSP download process, you may discover you have to be more discriminating as a matter of practicality.

Memory Cards

The files you download onto your PSP don’t actually go to your PSP. There is no hard drive or any kind of storage device included in the PSP. That’s where those memory cards come in. You’re probably already using a Memory Stick PRO Duo memory card to save your game progress and any other files you have downloaded. It’s easier to say we are downloading or have downloaded something to our PSP than to say memory card every time.

The important thing is that you realize space is limited on these things. It will take a minimum of 256 MB to download a DVD length movie onto the “PSP” If you want to invest in the PSP download process, you may want to stock up on these. Actually, don’t stock up on the little ones as your money will most likely be better spent on the ones with the larger capacity.

In July 2006, Sony will release their 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo and it will sell for $250. That’s more than the PSP is currently selling for but that’s also a lot of video and audio PSP download files. Not to mention game saves and any photos you’ve downloaded. San Disk already has their 4GB memory card out and it is somewhat cheaper and is compatible with the PSP.

If you have never performed a PSP download before, make sure you read all the directions with whatever program you are using has. If you are totally lost on the subject, Google “PSP download” and you’ll get plenty of advice on how to go about any kind of a PSP download whether it be audio, video, photos or even ripping the files off your CDs and DVDs and then transferring them to your PSP.

There are also several forums online where PSP gurus hang out and help other PSP fans with things like that. Just reading some of these posts can be a tremendous help to you because most of the time you can find someone who has had the same kind of problem you are having. I have read so many posts on PSP forums where one person was thanking another and stated that when they called Sony tech support the person didn’t know what they were talking about. I don’t know about that but a true PSP fan will most likely be able to help with a lot of different things.
